Thread: How frequently page rank changes for you?

Hi,

What is your experience with page rank changes from Google? How long did it take for your website to change page rank every time?

From My expeirence and some of my business friends opinions, Page rank takes more time to change after it reaches 5. After that period it depends on the number of pages into your website with good page rank and how long it sustains online.

I think a XML sitemap also plays a great role with Google Index and indirectly the Page Rank of the website.

What do you think?

yeah it does take more time to change after it reaches 5

I think that best advice you can have is "ignore pagerank". It happens whether you want it to or not :P Just keep doing what you do, write great content keep you website up to par and let the google Gods do their thing.

At the latest pr update, just 2 of my websites got PR changed. i don't care about this so much.

It usually goes up to pr3 then stays put although the odd one goes to pr4 then comes down to pr3 after that theres never any change.

I dont think XML sitemaps have a thing to do with rankings, SERPS, or page rank.

A properly laid out site navigation wise, and with good SEO technique a sitemap isn't even needed. I only use one for a single site that has horrible navigation and all my other sites without them are doing great

Mine was PR5 but last week it came down to PR4 but there was a slight increase in traffic..WIERD!

Mine basically NEVER changes. I did though seem to get close to my old pagerank back on my design site and it's subdomains recently. I had thought it's gone for good.

One of my websites has been online for 6 years and went down once from pr4 to pr3. The other website was pr2 then for two months was pr3 then for no reason that I know of went back down to pr2. Didn't make me happy. Hasn't gone back up to pr3 in the last 4 months.

For me SERP is more important than PR, But if you can have high PR, much better..

I agree. I have ranked top ten for highly competitive phrases with a pagerank of ZERO. I wouldnt really worry about PR unless I was thinking about selling some links, which Im not.

XML Sitemaps help getting new/more pages indexed faster. Having a high PageRank generally also helps getting Google to index more pages in your website.

PR changes all the time. My PR always change per update. Sometimes up sometimes down

Truth is, Google updates PageRank whenever the heck they feel like it. It may be every month, every 2, 3, or 4 months, or they may change their ranking name and algorithm at any point.

My sites PR have not changed for a long time now.

Mine all fluctuate fairly often.

I'd have to agree with Kaos. I have been busting my you know what and Im still a 0/10 and I'm to the point where I don't even care anymore. My site is over a year old and I have spent a ton of time trying to optimize it to the hilt and trying to get as many good incoming links and nothing.....

But Pr is most important in your result

You can also try use PageRank sculpting to focus internal page rank flow to your important pages.
