Thread: My page rank dropped

3 months back I used to get 40-50 visitors daily.

I changed my website with more keywords and google dropped number of visitors to 0

Then I removed the new keywords I added to website. Still I am getting 5-10 visitoes per day.


Earlier I used to get 40-50 visitors/ day but not any more.

Why is it so. What should I do to get as many visitors as earlier.

I added more keywords to site So that more visitor visit but exactly opposite happened.

Well it depends on the website and what exactly you've done. If you add too high of a percentage of keywords, Google may think you're being spammy and so downgrade you. If you don't add enough,then it won't know to direct people to your site for those keyword phrases. It's a fine line we webmasters must walk.

Therefore, then, you are going to have to experiment. Instead of modifying your text, I would work on adding more and more content and seeing which types of things make your traffic go up and which down. PR is just a side effect of getting good traffic; getting good traffic is the real goal.

It will depends on the keyword you are targeting. You should analyze first what keywords to use for your site and not just simply put it all that way. Analyze the competition as well for that keywords, and after the analyzation build links for your targeted keywords.

It will surely take time and needs patience to be able to attain certain goals. Good luck.

did you change your keywords?

It takes google a while to index, when you said you changed your keywords, what do you mean?
Did you change the meta description of title tag as well?

Be patient. Google needs time to index your page. You added new keywords to your site. I hope you added your new keywords without black hat way.

You should submit your sitemap frequently and also update your content sometimes.

Hmm.. Just keywords don't get you more visitors. Try optimizing your meta description and you might get some good rankings for your keyword.

Did you change the title or description also? I have found that changing too much too quickly in the way of title, description and keywords can temporarily harm your position in the search results.

Try to keep up to date your Content and also site map too

We are all just guessing here without being able to see your website. I doubt that putting more content on the page will reduce your search results.

have you paid enough attention with on page optimization before doing off page? also keywords plays a critical role in optimizing our site, try to focus on keywords with lesser competitors first and if you had enough experience or after dropping on the first page of search engine for a certain keyword get on with a competitive keyword.. that's just the way it goes, but for me content also plays a critical role in increasing traffic..

The reason could be other as well, maybe your competitors are working more harder than you are and so maybe the better way should be to analyze your competitors and find out what they are doing better than you. Because if you have lost some traffic then someone else would have definitely gained it. You should constantly study your competitors as well.

it may be because your old visitors may not be aware of your new website.

You may want to use keyword suggestion tools for your website to get a higher page rank. And it might also take time for Google to index your site. Be patient. The reason why people resort to black hat methods is because they think their site can rank higher through those.

Don't worry, it will be alright. Continue your SEO work, and do not change any more keywords. Instead submit few more keywords, and try some link exchanges to boost the initial traffic.

Just keep on building link with your target keyword. For resulting a good position in Google. But be sure that you've pick the right keyword for you. BTW if you trying to compete with the higher competitors, it takes time and determination to rank. So try to do some remedies.

Don't be panic..everything gone be alright..first of all just check your keywords and all that to do to generate traffic on your site..may be you don't update you site.....just check it out..

I don't think it's really relevant. If you look at your statistics each day you will see a lot of variation, google may have change it's ranking algorithm, your competitor may have done a better job than you or you may have made some mistake.

Visitor from SEO always increase and decrease and lost your time finding why isn't worth it.

Just continue to build great content, follow basic SEO guidelines and wait.

If you make great content and you have some visitor, they will build you inlink faster and more naturally than anything you can do.

Great content + natural inlinks build by your fans will get you a lot SEO visitors in the long run.

Just get some inlinks from relevant forums, blog and social websites in the start, then if you make great content it will get viral and you won't have to worry about it.

Whenever you make your website more general by adding more keywords you will target more people, but your competition will also increase. It is better to stay more targeted with less or long tailed keywords rather than going more general and sacrificing your traffic.

I also lost my PR by one. But, I am not disappointed. I feel Google has a valid reason behind not making all the details public. If they make it everything public, then many people with low quality blogs will start playing all kinds of dirty games just for the sake of PR. So, I think Google is doing the right thing.

Dont worry and continue your seo work

You should everything possible to promote your site. And you should work constantly, improving everything starting with content and finishing with SEO techniques. Try to advertise your site somewhere else not online - why not do a TV ad? or some leaflets.

Don't stop building your links to increase your number of visitors. Dropping of page rank is only normal.
