what is the true value of google page rank?

hi,

I feel PR has no real value unless you are trying to sell ads. Traffic is way more important then PR. Even then it is a ?. I have bought banner ads on a PR 2 site with 10,000 UV a day.

Google PR is not that important to me, SERP is the most important for me, If you can get rank on SERP more visitors your site will have,and that is our main objective to attract more visitors for our site..

yeah, Misa21 is right. You can gain more traffic if you rank in SERP, because users can easily saw your site and they are possibility that they will visit your site.

If your site have low PR it never will be in top 10, if competition will be high.

IMO PR is just a rough guide and is not be all and end all of link popularity.

If you work hard on your site then the pagerank looks after itself eventually. I do not give it much thought anymore because it can go down as well as up sometimes for no obvious reason.

If pagerank were not important then Google would not have a patent on it, have a page rank meter and place importance on it.

The pr toolbar ranks as one of the best marketing tools of all time. However, Pagerank was eaisily manipulated so it's value in the google algorithm was decreased.

I have a site in the top #10 for a competitive kw. The page is only PR2 but the domain seven years old.

PR is the importance of a site.

Trust, authority, pr and relevance are all used to rank a site along with 200 other factors.

They enough money to patent the whole world. As many here commented, there is no much importance to page rank, unless you are Goolge - so you patent it.
