Default What's your highest PR page?

I know that PR isn't everything. I even wrote an article about the subject a while ago -
Getting out of the Google PRat Race

Still, let's face it, we all care what our PR is imagine waking up tomorrw and finding that your site went up in the PR charts? wouldn't that be nice?

My highest is only 6 And that only on a few pages too. I have tons of PR5 pages though and lots of PR4 of course. Many of my sites are brand new, so they don't show up any PR yet, but I am expecting most of them to start with PR5 in the next update.

I am afraid that my highest is merely a two.

I haven't been trying though, and that's a site that is not even developed at all.

My highest is a homepage at a PR of 4 , but this should go up, considering it went way up in the SERP rankings on Google, from 500 something to 4

A PR of 4, isn't bad at all, Jeter.

No it's not, and as you said, the "real" PR is probably higher. Can't wait for old Google to update the toolbar to reflect the current PR.

I know, but a PR of 6 or 7 would be real nice :hyper:

    Oh definitely traffic!

Unless your business model relies on selling text links - people still buy those by PR.

Traffic is definitely better. PR essentially means nothing, however, traffic is worth $$$, and the more traffic you have, the more $$$ you can make :$: :$:

I'd have to agree with Jeter on that one. PR just shows how many backlinks/links you have at Google in a number form.

Of course, if you have a really high PR, chances are you're also making a lot of $$$

Yes, Anat is right. If you have a high PR website, then your website almost has to be successful, because it means you are ranked high in Google, and get more traffic through it. The two kinda go hand in hand, but still if you had to pick, I would definitely pick traffic.

People also tend to forget Google isn't the be all end all of search engines. Yahoo is still #1 by leaps and bounds, and both MSN and Yahoo are closing on Google fast. Their search results have been far more relevant the past few months, and Teoma and Alltheweb are making strides in search technology as well.

PR is great if you have it, but not having it isn't a disability unless you believe it is.

Interesting proposition you have there. How long have you had PR7 on that page? I've seen PR7 on geocities before that somehow had "false PR" in the toolbar. I don't mean to sound overly suspicious, but that page you mention there in your forums only shows one backlink, and it's not from a PR8 either

I've had the PR7 for at least a year now if not longer. That page in itself should not have backlinks because the PageRank has spread to it from elsewhere in the site.

My main site, "mystery250.com", which I hardly ever use, except for storing personal files to share, is somehow a PR3.
