Why do pages within a website drop PR?

Hi guys,

Not made a topic in here for a while but this is just a quick one:

I run a website that is currently pr3 which is fine, the pages within the website e.g. /page1/ also had pr3 but for some reason over the past 2 weeks they have dropped to pr1.

The homepage of the site has still kept it's pagerank (3) but i was wondering why do pages lose pagerank, how can i keep these other pages at pr3.

I think its the same reason any page home or inner pages lose PR, links, content, etc. Are the inside pages updated regularly? I hate PR losses no matter what page it is too, drives me crazy!

Generally we don't concentrate on innerpages while linkbuilding and updating contents this must be the only reason for dropping thier PR; better to have backlinks for innerpages too as of homepage.

Well the more the number of links you have on a particular page the more the PR is passed equally to all the pages...this might be the problem..

Well there is a PR update round the corner...just keep your fingers crossed as many see their PR drop!

thanks for the comments, much appreciated, i can inform you that after 48 hours the pr has increased back to normal, most pages dropped to pr1 from pr3 but have now returned to their original

strange to say the least!

It could just be to do with the update, a coupkle of updates ago all my inner pages lost PR for a couple of days, then they came back with even better results than before. fingers crossed!
