Default Is it possible to transfer paypal subscriptions?

Is it possible to transfer paypal subscriptions? If I were to sell a website that has subscribers who pay via paypal, how would I transfer these subscriptions and not the whole account?

I can't say for sure but they would probably have to be recreated.

I tend to agree, I faced a simular situation before.

all transactions had to be changed to a new Paypal account... even subsciptions.

Yep, when I sold my membership site, had to make an agreement with the new owner that when a members subscription to me was up, he could start a new subscription with the new owner at the same price.

Pain in the butt, having to grab those as they came up for renewal, refund and cancel the subscription.

Paypal will not let you move subscriptions.

You could offer a half price deal. That way more would renew, and you might get even more signing up.

Somehow I doubt PayPal would offer that "choice" to transfer subscriptions. It has to be against the ToS or PP somewhere.

It's too bad you couldn't "push" the subscriptions to another paypal account holder like you can with domain names, I am sure that it's not allowed for the simple reason too many people might take advantage of that and use it as a con....

It would be nice if paypal could maybe issue e-mails of some sort, so that the subscribers could confirm permission of subscription transfer? lol

It's very hard to sell a website with subscriptions.
It can be a big legal mess, especially if you had a customer decide to sue you for some made up subscription change and say they didn't agree....blah, blah, blah

Yes, I ran into that problem too when I bought a site with tons of subscripions. Paypal is no help at all no matter what the issue is. Sadly most people use Paypal so you are basically forced to have an account even if you don't want to

If you are going to do something with paypal - better ask Paypal directly and make sure you will not be panished with them for your actions. I think that is the best way.

Considering the paypal account does not provide the function, then he can't technically do it, so he's safe.
