I'd assume it's on a case by case basis..

Oh, ok...
Why did they close your account? Did you do something wrong?

Its not my account its my friends.
I send him funds i got in mine because i didnt have it linked to a bank so he helped me transfer funds...but his account got closed and i lost $107...

No i saw the email saying its cancelled

They rarely close accounts unless it broke their TOS.
Could be your friend used one of those vc's to get an account.
Lied about his account, where he is at, etc.
EG: not a country supported by paypal, he used a vc, an email based somewhere else, with a bank in a supported country, etc.
Lot of people found out when they used a vc or some odd unknown bank set up to get people paypal account.

I dont think its any of those, hes 18 and not wanted lol, cud it be they think the funds are an illegal source?
PayPals TOS are very 'loose' and allows them to interpret them in such a way that many times you directly are not violating their TOS but they decide to rule you are.
I had an account yanked simply because of a link on one of my sites. Pay Pal had nothing to do with the link, nothing at all, but they still yanked the account for it.

Well I lost $107 >_>

As long as you haven't broken any laws you should get your cash... eventually. I believe they mail you a check.

Oh ok, but now I think someone stole his paypal.. so i dont know..
I still think (and of course I don't know) your friend has scammed you out of the money somehow.. just sounds fishy.

Alright, im not even worried about it much anymore
When PayPal closes your account you usually get your money after 180 days. They can close your account for any reason they choose. Mine was closed after a dispute with Ebay, which owns PayPal.
