Most people those days use PayPal.
I have been using PayPal for many years, until they have limited my account.
The limitations on PayPal will drive you crazy, that's why I don't use PayPal anymore.
I have never used 2CheckOut, but it would be probably better than PayPal.

I use paypal.....no problems yet![]()

Why open a new thread when you asked the same question in another thread?
Easy, to to 2co's site and check out their prices and fees.
Then to paypal and check out their prices and fees.
Depending on what you want to offer your buyers, in majority of cases, paypal is cheaper.

You know, he asked a specific question, not how you feel about PayPal, there's no need to respond to every thread if you don't have any input on the topic.
Kalina added 0 Minutes and 36 Seconds later...
He didn't, I closed that thread and split his post into a new thread as it's a valid question and the thread it was in had it's offer expired.

Paypal sucks because they can block/refund the money after you sent the goods/scripts.

PayPal is the best. Most of them use it.. which way more secure that any other...
And yeah PayPal has some fees while you do transactions. But I have no clue about 2CO. Never used...
EDIT: Heres a link to how much paypal charges.. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...g-fees-outside

Lol I am already using paypal business so know their fees well n good!
So most ppl use it just to divide the risk as u can't say when paypal will ban you![]()

We use both. Paypal is great for membership sites like ours because if there payment fails any month, there access to our membership area is automatically canceled. 2CO is a nice admin, but you have to go and physically cancel peoples accounts which is tedious IMHO and of course there fees are alittle hire, but people seem to use there credit cards aot more through them so we had stuck with them..so far but are in the midst of changing it out to all PayPal I think with a new membership script (obviously the membership doesn't apply to your needs, just thought I'd mention them just in case)

I Use both!, matter fact, I have 1 paypal account and 4 2checkout accounts.
2check is killer, except for it's prices and fees. I use paypal whenever I can in regards to either paypal or 2checkout.
now 2checkout is easier to setup and get integrated on your website than paypal!, paypal has more you can do with it's system as for their API access points.

If your customer base is mainly webmasters or eBay members who would normally have a PayPal account, then it may be sufficient just to use PayPal to accept payments. Otherwise, it is best to have a processor such as 2CO that will accept credit cards directly in addition to a PayPal account. For example with my previous PDA accessories store, PayPal payments only accounted for 1/5 to 1/4 of all orders.
paypal is still more popular.
Paypal is more popular and more used. They both suck.
2CO can lock your account just as easy as PayPal can and generally without warning. Their algorithm for finding fraudulent transactions can be screwy and automatically lock your account for nothing you've done.
Personally I hate both as well, but currently I'm back with PayPal and just hoping for smooth sailing.
My current phpBay Plugin For WordPress project is Buy HD.
I'm Twitterpated, please follow me and I'll do the same.
use PP more easy and userfreindly![]()
I want to point out that there is a difference between the normal PayPal payments and PayPal Website Payments Pro that function like a merchant account and accepts CC payments directly. With Payments Pro, you will probably not need to have another merchant account or 2CO like service.
2CO is good, But only if you have genuine buyers, Because 2CO doesn't fight fraud more than PayPal, If anybody pays you from Stolen Credit card then 2CO will show money in your account, after you ship the product, it charges back and youre a poor loser, Where as paypal is a bit strict and fights charge backs asap and you don't lose much here
Hope this helped![]()

I currently use PayPal and 2co.
I find that 2co is ok, though had to go through a Process of Verification, The account was all ready and activated and then like 2 weeks later I was informed my account was suspended, Pending Verification.
Though after it was Verified it has been ok, A good thing is that wen a client makes a payment through a Credit Card it verifies this, However, the funds are not credited straight away.mg:
But both Payment Gateways are good to me.

Paypal is more well known to the average customer who may never have heard of 2CO before but lots of payment processors can have the same sort of downsides regarding accounts being suspended unfairly and whatnot its always a good idea to have a plan b to turn to if you need it.
To add to this, We have a Genuine Client who sad to say lives in a Country where they are limited to the use of PayPal due to their area being targeted by a High Fraud Risk.
We use 2co because it does not hold such a restriction. We overtime verified this client and found him to be really genuine and not to be a fraud or scammer, Sadly PayPal will not let such a person register as being from a High Fraud Risk Country.
I think that 2co is better
PAYPAL is way more popular by a long shot I feel. They also take credit cards for you even if the person doesnt have a paypal account.
Same, I use PayPal, and i have never had any troubles yet!I will checkout that other one

i'm using Paypal and found no problems
2CO now offers Paypal as a payment method, so it's a good option for those who can't get a Paypal account.
Andrew
2CO is a waste of time. I used them back a few years ago, when I offered webhosting. You wouldn't believe how bad their system was and what kinda issues had to be resolved. On top of that, their fraud detection system lacks a lot. I had quite a few fraud orders via 2CO, but none via PP.
I have a question about Paypal... Sorry if a little off topic but whilst looking at the advantages of the alternative I a need to know the problems with Paypal!
I have used paypal for about a year, I set up an online shop with EKM and paypal and have never shifted.
A year down the line 600 uniques per day and a conversion of about 6% - about £30k per month gross goes through Paypal. And a small amount through Google - when are they going to flex muscles and give us a proper full solution?!
I have never had a problem but I am worried when I hear of 'account limiting' and banning! What causes this to happen, is it the fault of the site owner or just a random thiny PayPal do to mess up your life?
Happy with PayPal so far but would like to know what happens before it does!
One advantage I found of PayPal over 2checkout is that 2checkout put all these restrictions on what I was and was not allowed to sell where PayPal didn't. 2checkout did not let me sell anything related to ssh/telnet. What I did was disabled ssh/telnet as a service and removed any references to it from my marketing pages. They re-inspected my site to make sure this was the case but I had forgot to remove mention of it from one of the pages. They accused me of trying to sneak one by them when it was just a mistake and a pain that I had to disable that service in the first place. They canceled my account. I began Googling around to find forums of 2checkout customers who had similar problems. Some of them claimed that when their accounts were canceled (also for bogus reasons) that 2checkout "froze" whatever funds they had in the account. A couple of people say they had $1,000 or $2,000 basically stolen from them. PayPal has never put restrictions on what I can or can't sell and has not interfered so greatly in my business.
PayPal also has a nice API for making your web site or billing software connect with it which is great for managing subscription services.

Support for the PayPal API/IPN/PDT is built into a lot of popular billing programs. That's how I use it. It's built into my webhosting billing software. Users can sign up using PayPal and a subscription for monthly service is automatically created. It is possible to do different things with it, though. If you are a programmer (which I am not) and want to write something here is some sample code for interacting with PayPal's IPN (Instant Payment Notification) and PDT (Payment Data Transfer):

Paypal is affordable for small transactions but 2CO is more secure but the fee is quite high.
Many people use paypal, but 2co is great! Everything has their advantages and disadvantages.

I would more than likely use 2co but their fees are high so I use paypal even though they aren't as secure. I guess it just depends on the person.

I don't have a 2CO account but I really wish I joined that day a while back when it was free for a day to join =/.

There are many processors out there and it is good to have a back up, but with popularity comes the fees to cover the fame. Check them all out good before money changes hands.
Sheesh, I was seriously thinking about switching to 2CO until I read this thread. One thing I have to admit that's good about Paypal is branding. People recognize it and IMHO people are generally terrified about buying stuff online so they want something well known to run their money through.

PP is better than 2CO, PP low fees, 2CO hight fee. PP is easy to access and can withdraw anytime, 2CO must reach $100. And the term of 2CO is trick, if you have 20% fraud orders in total orders, you will get banned and lost $49 setup fee.
PayPal all the way!
Cheers
Sean
