Thread: PayPal Debit Card

I have my PayPal debit card for a quite a while ... no problems.

Has anyone ever had problems/hell storys with these?

I don't think these are available to us Canadians yet, do you know? Sure would be handy...

I use mine all the time, never had any major problems. The only thing I can recall is once the magnetic strip went bad, so I called to have it replaced. They cancel your current card and you will receive a new one with a new account number, therefore you cannot use it (even for online purchases) until the new one arrives.

Colleen, I am in Canada as well and had one a few years ago.. probably around 2003 or so.. sometime around then.

I used to use it all the time when I was into webhosting, but I don't do that anymore or paypal.. I don't know where the card is now actually.. I think I through it out when I closed my account..

How does one apply for it?

Hey Colleen, I really don't have the slightest clue.. maybe it was because I had a business account I'm not sure.. the card was under 'Pier Hosting' as the name.. try emailing them and seeing what they say.. I remember it was a Paypal Mastercard debit card with that name on it.. sorry!

My hell story is that after loosing mine last year Paypal won't issue me a new one. I've tried several times and I get the 'we are processing your request please wait 4-6 weeks for a response'

I don't get it they stand to make more money off me by giving me a debit card. As it is now I transfer funds to my checking as soon as I get them in so I have it available to me.

So for the most part these are good cards ...

Yeah, I loved having it and never had a problem using it even when booking flights and stuff. The convenience of being able to use your PayPal balance at any physical store that accepts Mastercard is great. Not getting reissued a new card sucks though.

Yes, it is very conveient...you don't have to wait 3-5 days to go to your bank and have to use your debit card from your bank.

+ I get %1 cash back when I use it for a purchase .

A: The PayPal Debit Card is not being offered to new members at this time. We hope to expand our debit card services to the Canadian PayPal community in the future.

I'm not new, but I'm Canadian so yeah, still not being offered here, as with everything...

I have been using the PayPal debit card for years and have never had any problems except that a lot of ATMs wont take it, but I never need to do that anyway.

I have been very happy with mine, I specially like how, if the money is showing up on the site, is already on your card, no waiting, its very cool!

Hey I got some good news. After griping about them not issuing me another debit card the other day I went and applied yet again. Today I got an email saying it's been approved and should be here within a week or two!!

Not available for indians, I wish we had it

I've never felt the need for it, I just transfer my money to the bank account. If I had a card, I would never have any money in paypal...lol

You have to be a member for at least 2 months I believe...

Thats one way of spending your paypal balance i might just apply for one.

It's quite handy...no waiting to transfer to your bank

Did you miss the whole I am Canadian part? I've been a member for 5+ years, THAT's not the problem.
