    Default What do you think?

Thought i'd share this photo with people here and see what you think.

I took it last year at night absolutly by accident, well I took it in the dark without the flash on (I forgot to press the button to open the flash) and this was the result. I thought it was pretty good, so I kept it.

I think I might darken the black parrts of it in PS though, so they don't look so fuzzy.

    Any comments appreciated,
    Thanks,
    TS

Very moody pic TS. Reminds me of taking a pic 10 years ago. There was a hole in the wall on my route back from college, looking into an empty factory. It was really dark inside. Had my camera so I did a long exposure shot, and when the film was developed it looked a little like there were people standing in that dark space.

Shivers ran down my spine. mg:

Now that would have been weird.

I just thought it was quite a nice effect I got without doing anything special. The yellow glow in the background is the glow of a city below (we were on top of a hill in the middle of the city I live in). Those are people standing at the top next to a bench (think there was 3 or 4 of them), so it wasn't really a surprise to get their silluettes, but it was to get them in different darknesses like that.

Oh yeah, sorry totally forgot about what you had described by the time I read the next post.

It's not as bad as it used to be up there now, they have a security guy who pretty much stays up there every night now I think.

Thanks I'll try it out tomorow after uni...right now it's time to sleep

tsdesigns added 72 Minutes and 33 Seconds later...

So I couldn't sleep and decided i'd do this now rather than tomorow.

How do you think the darkening came along? The original is in the first post so I won't bother posting it again.

    lol okay

I was just too lazy to go and get the code again, cause i'd only asked shareapic to produce the one photo.

Ah well, how do you think it came along?
I think I could have/should do better on the shaddows of people & the bench, but I was glad to get the fuzzyness away from the hill

hmm tough one, actually I think I prefer the original over the edited, at least as far as the bench and silhouettes are concerned.

yeah, less noise = good most of the time and the burning of the hill took care of that.

one of the things that's great about PS...there are usually 3+ ways of doing the same thing.

I tried a QDE (quick & dirty edit)

I used a 'brightness & contrast' adjustment layer and then burned the hill

Yeah i've just done an edit, but I still don't like the noise on the bench and silluettes, might ask some of my mates who are much better at PS if they know of a way to get rid of that...without using a tiny burn and taking ages.
