    Default Eagles here in Iowa

Lots of eagles all over Iowa.
Of course, I never have our camera at hand when we see one.
One was in front of our place on the power pole yesterday, and by the time I got back in with our dog and grab the camera, it was gone.

These pictures were taken by one of our nieces' in Eastern Iowa where she lives.

    Nice pic.

There is one spot in Wisconsin that I've watched them fly many times. Awesome looking bird in flight!

    Hi,

I have never seen one live cool.
Is that snow? In SD I saw geese flying south today this time year got birds all mixed up.

Don't eagles fly south in winter like other birds?

Nope, they are territorial birds and pretty much stick to one area.
Neat to actually see one swoop down and grab a rabbit.
    Yep, snow flakes.

When I lived in the boonies of Texas, lots of eagle, hawks and owls.

Had a screech owl in the attic (when the babies hatched, they made a racket every night).

Earlier, when I took the dog out, there were wild turkeys across the street.

There are tons of them around here! By my old house, driving into town, either the main or back road it was not uncommon to see a few dozen each trip.

The cornfields and soy fields attract turkeys like honey for flies.

Weird fact: turkey farmers grow one turkey per person in the country.
