Default Anybody Still Using Film Cameras?

I wonder if anybody out there is still using film cameras? I haven't used one since 2002, but I don't really like using digital cameras. For a start, there are too many functions. Also, there is much less challenge involved since it is possible to use Photoshop to rescue the vast majority of "bad photographs".

What I mean by "bad photographs" are those that are incorrectly exposed, or have the wrong colour balance.

I still have a selection of film camera and lenses that are no longer used or have not been used at all.

My parents, not very technically minded, still take a 35mm camera when they go on holiday. They might be the last people in Britain.

When will they stop developing film rolls anyway? I have tons from wrestling events I went to over the years I have yet to develop.

    Kodak has stopped making film.

Now leaving Fuji of Japan the only film manufacturer left.

Fuji says they will continue production for an unknown period of years.

there's some truth to that with PS but like my pappy once said, no matter how much you polish a terd, it's still a terd. PS is a compliment to my photography, not the terd polisher.

yeah, for the average user...they will never even understand 71% of the functions of a prosumer type camera. they just buy it thinking hey, expensive camera = good pictures

much like undeveloped film has a "use by" date, exposed film is the same way. You should get those rolls developed ASAP...if they are even still good!

pro's and con's to both. DSLR's are hard to beat though, instant feedback. If I had all the time & $$ in the world I'd like Film > Dig...otherwise not even close for me in my current state

Kodak stopped making normal film, or film targeting normal users. They still make some, specially on the B&W market.

As a general answer, I wrote something about this some time ago. If you're interested. Are digital cameras destroying photography?

good read, I concur wholeheartedly. digital gives anyone with a pulse that false sense of "Iknowwhati'mdoingmanship"

I can't even visit photo groups @ myspace anymore (other than my own) b/c the pictures posted for the most part are absolute garbage!

Okay, I should have said: Koday quit making mass market films, but still making specialized film.

Nope, 2nd last. My mother does love her disposeable cameras. The results usually look all the same.

I still have a Pentax K1000 I got in 94, or 95. Probably won't use it again but it does have sentimental value.

I wonder if somebody can update me on the current state of digital photography vs film. Has it approached or surpassed film in terms of resolution, and colour rendering? Are wedding studios using medium format digital cameras rather than film cameras?

I used to have a commercial studio and I was using a camera that Fuji lent me. I can't remember the model. Then I used some of the old doorstop Kodak things. I finally got a Sigma SD9 in 2004 and then moved to the Canon Mark II a couple of years ago.

What do you shoot with now?

    Best regards-
