Thread: My adventures in Egypt

So yeah, I know some people here will have seen this in other forum(s) i'm a part of, but I thought i'd share it here too =)

Well I went to Egypt for 2 weeks, and just came back the other day. Was in Cairo for 3 days, Luxor for 4 days and Sharm El Sheikh for 7.

I thought it was about time to upload the pictures and tell people about it.

It was great to say the least. I don't think i'd go back though. Okay so seeing the pyramids and temples there was a good thing, but they arn't going to change in my lifetime unless by some catastrophe they fall down or something, or unless they find new ones. The spynx was pretty amazing though, all made out of one stone and that.

They didn't allow you to take pictures and/or videos inside anywhere (pyramids, temples, etc) which was a bit disappointing, but pictures wouldn't really come out well in them anyway.

Did some other things as well, like snorkeling, went on a glass bottom boat, diving, air balloon at sunrise (that bloody burnt my head though), saw how papyrus was made, bunch of other stuff.

Snorkeling and diving was amazing in the red sea. I think I might take it up as a hobby back here it was that good.

You have took some excellent pictures. It's making me a little jealous just looking at them, anyone fancy taking me to egypt?

Oh yeah and im sure taking the baloon ride at sunrise was an excellent experience

My brother loaned me a bonkers conspiracy/illuminati dvd. Proposes that aliens with superior technology and know-how built them. What do you think having seen them close up?

illuminati documentries are always interesting in my opinion. I find alot of conspiracy theories unbelievably far-fetched but still enjoy finding out about them, atleast it's a more interesting version of the truth.

I think it must have been people who done it, maybe with help from elephants or something...but maybe not, didn't see any elephants there.
We were told there that it was a pharoh trying to keep people employed so hired thousands of people to build his pyramid (the first one) and then other pharohs just kept doing it, but making pyramids bigger as if they were a better pharoh than the previous. But I don't know if that was just so we (tourists) don't get a bad impression thinking that they were slavedrivers or something.

I didn't take a hat, or get one there. I have enough hair to cover from the sun, it was just the hot air balloon that burnt me, kinda gutting as it started pealing and it looked as if I had dandruff or something but it's gone now, all better

Gteat stuff.. I'd love to see those first hand myself! Lucky!

So eh, Egypt.

who watched kittehs while you were gone?

next door...they looked after the dog and went and fed the cat+kittens while we were away. They seemed greatful when we came back...they now have someone to hassle for extra food.

One of them brought a bird in the other day...was chirping and everything, but then boo wouldn't open his jaws to let it out and the chirping stopped. The bird was like 3 times the size of his head...i'm not sure if he planned on eating it or if he was just catching it to show us what he can do.

for the mids and such, they didn't let you take pics period or just not with flash??

They just didn't period, took your camera off you if they saw you doing it. And you don't wanna f**k with a guy with a gun to get it back...so best not to take photos.
