Thread: I've got traffic! HDR (High Dynamic Range) + Sunsets = Wicked!

Well I made a new post today, HDR (High Dynamic Range) + Sunsets = Wicked!

then as is sometimes the case (when I think I have a good post....so every 17th one :-P) I submitted it to social sites using shareaholic.

it has turned out some peeps from stumbleupon, 35 so far...I wouldn't mind 10 times that but then again the site would probably melt the godaddy server.

Jesse's (err Sir Jesse) post about "competition" made me want to give this a shot...not the best subject for HDR in this instance I think but I'l be keeping my eye out for other in the future you can be sure.

Yeah, I'm wondering if maybe it doesn't like Firefox. Cause I tried changing my profile picture too and nothing happened. I'll log in with IE and see if that does it.

I do add lots of people as friends, but I am not sure how much it helps with the traffic. It doesn't seem to make much sense. I can stumble one of my blog posts/lenses/forum threads (or other peoples') and get a few stumblehits from it. But there is another blog that I stumble regularly and he says whenever I stumble it, he'll get at least 1k stumblehits over the next 24-48 hours! mg: But, he says, when other people stumble that same thing it doesn't have nearly the effect!

huh, that is strange, that the results would vary so wildly like that.

I guess my 'thought' with the friends is that they might be more likely to stumble your stuff

Photoshop CS2(i think) and CS3 have a 'merge to HDR' function. The hard part is doing the tone mapping by hand...I have not figured that out yet. I think you have to have a really outstanding grasp of curves in order to tone map properly.

Or you can do like I do...get some SW to do it for you! Then I use PS to clean it up some.

my question was 'incomplete'

I guess my real question was(one of them), would the same people that followed the first stumble be made aware of the 2nd? I guess not unless they were my friends or something.

I was hoping to build off the first of course.

BUT it sounds/feels like they are separate entities

Even if they were your friends, they wouldn't know that you had submitted something new unless they were watching very closely... Or unless someone PMd them with the link or something...

I was also getting traffic from this forum...not much but some. I went to visit it but it said I had to register to view...click on the register and it says it's disabled :evil:
