Default Is The Canon Power Shot A Good Camera?

I have been searching and reading trying to decide what digital camera to buy. There are so many different brands and types it is a tough decision. I think I have it narrowed dwon to the Canon Power Shot (The A590 IS).

Does anyone have this camera or know about it? Would it be a wise choice?

    Any advice appreciated here

For a few dollars more, I would recommend the Kodak ZD 710. I have had it for a year and it is the closest thing I ever used to a SLR expensive camera. It does anything the average photographer would want for a cheap price. I love the camera but the software is crap.

Personally I don't like the design of Canon Power Shot A590 IS and it has only 8 mega Pixel Camera. Cannon PowerShot SD990 IS I think would be better for you. But it will depend on your choice and budget. The price Cannon PowerShot SD990 IS is higher but I like the design and the camera has 14.7 Mega Pixel which I think would be great.

I don't have a Canon A590 IS, but from the reviews I've been reading I might have to go get one myself. As a budget choice if all you're looking for is family pictures and such I think it would be OK.

If you looking for something a bit more you might go with allout's pick, I've not read up on the Kodak ZD 710 yet but it isn't that much more expensive and it has a personal recommendation which is most usually the better way to go.

I have a Canon Power Shot A570 IS now. And it really is good. I don't know about the A590 though. But I love how you can capture the pictures, there's many options you can choose from. Canon is a great camera brand.
