    Default Hawk and photoshop

Just joined the forum and was excited to see a photography section.

I have been shooting for sometime and have been trying to teach myself photoshop.

Here is a shot of a hawk with a damaged wing at a eco display.

I didnt like the messed up wing or the background, so I spent quite a bit of time on it and came up with this.

Any input, comments or suggestions as to doing maybe something different?

That is some pretty amazing work. Well done. I like the way you have recreated the broken wing. Looks fantastic.

Oh Wow! I almost missed the repair of the broken wing. Looks really good! Majestic is the first word that pops in my head.

    Thanks for the kind words.

The wing reconstruction was accomplished by taking a section of the good side, flipping it and shaping with the free transformation and skew tool to get it to fit. Then I used the clone tool clean up any ruff areas. Sounds easier than it actually was, but I was determined and learned a few things along the way. I ended up using 3 layers for the wings alone.

excellent work on the wing recon.

BG is a good start too. I'd almost like to see the hawk brighter and the clouds darker though?

as it is, it looks like the hawk is slightly underexposed, probably due to the brighter BG in the original photo...got to watch those camera meters

timsdd added 0 Minutes and 33 Seconds later...

    what do you shoot with?
