I've started to try some drops...

I've started to try and re-create the same effect. I've only tried it once, but plan to do it much more (as it was loads of fun), and without adding colour to the water or anything (which I think would make it look much better...), heres the best results I've had so far:

They are rather large images so i'm just going to link them here. Should really create smaller ones, but I really can't be assed at the moment.

I really want to make (or buy for a reasonable price) a new dropping system though. My original bottle for dropping seems pretty ineffective (and messy) as I made the holes a tad too big. If I could find some kind of container that has a tap attached to it that would be able to let the water out in slow drips then I'd totally buy it, but so far...no such luck.

I've also got another idea that might make for an interesting set of photos that are slightly related to this, but need to buy some materials first...so watch out for that one soon.

Anyway, what do you think?

Yeah, thats what I was planning. Still need to get round to going out and buying some food colouring to do it though

Probably do it sometime this week.

This is what you need...it is called a "Buret" that tap thing, that you spin in order to control the flow, attached to it is called a "Stop Cock" I did not name it, that is the official scientific name of this apparatus. We have one in the lab, and you can twist the stop cock to get it to drip very slowly and it should give you the desired performance that you need.

Both of these will do the trick for you, just keep in mind that they require a stand & a clamp in order to stay in place, but these Burets are calibrated to give you the same drop, of the same size, dripping at the same set time, and constantly dripping at the same rate, until all of the fluid has been expended.
