Question I need Image resizing software. Any good free ones?

I am wondering if there is a free software application download somewhere out here that lets you open up any format image and then input the exact dimensions you want the new resized image to be, hit a button and presto.

The image you first opened is resized exactly to the new size all while keeping the original aspect ration and not distorting the image in any way or making it look pixelated.

My site is mainly text and resource based, I have only recently began adding what I think are relevant images to certain pages that merit such images.

So I do not know a lot of working with images and resizing them. Also would be cool if I could use it to add a cute image to my signature for use here in WTF.:smartass:

I don't know about any image resizer but this can be done in Photoshop too. It can be done through "actions" I think.

I remember I did it once when I had to resize about 200 images to a specific size.

Search google for "photoshop resize actions" and you will find it.

Question Re: I need Image resizing software. Any good free ones?

I am still looking for an Image Resizing Software, i just want a free program which all it does is resize images in any format.

Don't need anything else or extra, just want to be able to change any image to any size I desire, without it distorting, pixelating or distorting the image.

    Can Anyone Please Advise?

    Thanks,

Bio check out GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program it's a free photo shop alternative. I'm no expert in PS but I use it for a lot of stuff. If you have trouble with Gimp under Windows ( I do under 64 Bit Win 7) check out Paint.net which is a really powerful app that works great for all sorts of photo stuff..and it's free.

    Hi BW:

Look up "Web Resizer" it works good for me, and it also allows you to add text like a copyright notice to the output files, its got all kinds of nifty features.

Just play around with it, and youll get the hang of it quick enough.

Also, when looking for any other utilities like that, always go look at "Snap Files" its a great site, just click on the freeware tab, so your results will only list free software, its the best site I know to find specialized software like that, that performs just the task you need.

    Hope this helps.

    Peace,
    Mike

    Hi,

That is sure a small image for someone like me (bad eyes) My glasses make me look ugly.

Is that a motar and pestle? A glass with 3 straws? Or the bar shot test tubes in a whiskey glass?

Lol, you are hiliarious...had me cracking up!

It is about 5 empty test tubes inside of an empty beaker, lol...I think I will have to change this image to something else...I am just glad that I finally figured out how to even place an image in my signature.

I am still new to this whole forum thing, but glad I choose WebTalkForums as my first to learn from.

That reminds me when I was in college at a convention or event, and I always had a bottle of rum inside of my bag and no one knew about it, lol...

I always used to tell my friends, if you know me well enough, and are truly my friend you would buy me a flask with my name etched in it, lol

I think that AcDsee can also help in resizing images. I use it frequently for this goal, and to tell the truth it's not so pretty, but very effective.

I think Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is best choice for this purpose.

You are allowed to follow up on older threads, as long as the thread is still open, and you can add genuine thought & foresight into the thread topic...then your reply is most-welcome...I actually am still interested in finding image resizing software.

Bumping of threads is only when someone replies to an older thread in order to spam and/or post pad...so if you are going to post in an older thread, make sure it is a healthy response!

Hmm...I never heard of this software, I might just have to check this one out...thanks for your suggestion! I truly do not care if the software program is pretty or not, lol, as long as it gets the job done.

There are some pretty ugly software programs out there, but they tend to be the most-powerful sometimes!

    Much appreciated,

Resize can be done with almost every software dealing with pictures!
    Even paint allows it!

You can use any good Picture/ Image viewing software .
There are number of softwares which can help you in re sizing your images and that too with great quality.
Picasa, Photoshop 7, CS3 are some of them .
You can also go for a paint if you dont want to download any heavy and bulky softwares like Photoshop.
And even if you want a particular Re sizer software then i should suggest you - VSO Re sizer - It`s the best one in town .

    Have a great Day
