Just me and my photo buds, trying to one up each other. None of us are studio wizards when it comes to this sort of thing but it's been fun and darn it, we learnt somethin along the way too :twisted:

I've always loved water droplet pictures, I'm really enjoying these, are these using their natural colors?

no, actually I have one studio light, and my flash...the problem with flash is it's slow (to recharge after full cycle - it's an external flash).

like no way your flash can recharge shot after shot after shot as fast as I need to take the pictures.

1) so I turned my flash all the way down, 1/128th the normal power (this let's it flash every time the shutter fires),
1a) I use the studio light to supplement the flash.

2) I open the lens as wide as it will go (F/4) in order to
3) let me use a fast shutter speed 1/200second
4) and then I let it rip...shoot in continuous mode which nets me 3 FPS, up to 10 shots (using high Q JPG mode)

5) drop my shizzle into the nizzle

1st one (green water in my coffee pot lit by a strobe light) mg:

2 & 3 are liquid clothes detergent lit by a black light :twisted:

4...green water in a plastic bowl au natural, except for the red ---> HUE shift there.

the last one is natural, it just looks different from the other b/c of the "curves" adjustment in PS

Ok, was anyone else scrolling up and down as Tim told us which picture was what or is that just me LOL. I love the contrast with the detergent ones, and the newer posted ones are even better then the first ones.

New setup and so my margin for error was very great on the focus at least...I kinda liked some of the shapes and colors despite the soft drops.

The fourth one looks like a swan to me, very nice pics... as always :-)
