Finally getting around to some of the other 299GB of pics I have taken

This was from our trip to FL in May.

I didn't edit the pics but I did run them through a crude batch processing which is why some of them look really funky (especially the cloud pics)

this shot is actually in focus...the engine exhaust on the other hand messed with it!!

Everybody takes cloud pictures from the airplane, but yours actually turned out good! Even with the funky colors...

And you're right, her hair does kinda look like mine.

she's got the full on moose working this am, with the hair in a tight formation. usually it's much more poofy

I like the 3rd 4th and 6th.
How much optical zoom?
I had tried several times with my small camera to capture some birds photos, but unable to get big pictures. I don't have a big zoom lens.

without a DSLR it's tough to get good zoomers

birds are shot with my 70-200mm lens, so usually probably near 200mm

I forget how that equated to 'optical zoom' though lik with a small P&S cam

These are HDR's all of them, but they were batched processed and therefore a lot more vibrant than a typical capture.

the brute force method worked on some if not most of them but as you can see the major trade off is noise!!

decided a bonus round to reward my faithful viewers

ok the last 4 are long exposures!! 20 seconds I think.

but tim, you ask, how can you take a long exposure like that on a sunny day??

I'm glad you asked.

I have what they call a ND filter (neutral density). It's job is to block light. I have like a wicked stout one...it blocks like 99% of light!! I can barely and I mean barely compose a shot it is so dark!! but it makes for some wicked effects!!
