Thread: php-nuke wont email new users!

Lately I have been asked by people that have been signing up to my guild site as to why they dont receive the confirmation email to activate their account. Anyone here have this problem before? Could someone take a look at it maybe? I really dont want to keep having to create accounts manually.

Are you able to email old members? Are you sure its not just a problem with the phpmail function, rather than the signup script?

yes i can send out a mass mail to the current users. just for some reason only certain new users get the activation email and some dont. It's very strange

now i can go into phpadmin and see that the users have signed up. but they never get the confirmation. and if they try to sign up again with the same email it says it is already in the database.

the site for this is Lords of Mayhem if someone wants to try it and see for your self

I dont really need it to confirm users. is there a way to have their account automatically active? Its for a guild site so the only people that sign up to it are guild members.

Possible the emails getting routed to a spam trap?

you mean like sent to a users spam folder? I just tryed to set up another test account and didnt get an email at all. I cleared the email account first to be sure.

I dont know why that is. Some people i send the link to the site doesnt come up. but everyone else it does. That has happened with another site i used to run also. never could figure it out.

you can access it through a proxy lol but that defeats the reason for having a site.


I guess when you only pay 2.50 for a hosting account you really get what you pay for

ok I have now moved the site to the same host I have for my wallpaper site. Everything works fine again.
