Look at http://hostingfairy.com/ where it says "Check your domain". How do I get it to work so that it will tell whoever enters a domain that it is either taken or available?

Oh. I think you'll need a custom script, I don't know of any available one's out there.

I think there might be free scripts, try searching for one
Also another thing you could do is if you had a affiliate account with a registar, use the code they give you.

Some will give you boxes to search for, if you don't have a method to sell the domain what would be the point in having the search?
