Default Anyone every integrate paypal this way?

UGH! I am so in over my head with this client request LOL Has anyone implemented paypal payment pro on their websites using paypal NVP API? I downloaded their php version, since that the code I'm most familiar with but the directions are totally over my head. Was wondering if anyone had any luck getting this to work.

My basic desire is, my client has one product that he will be selling(as soon as I get the site live) so I didn't want to use a shopping cart. I also wanted to have it so people can pay with their credit card without having to sign up for paypal, looking for the compulsive/quick buys. So paypal suggested the pro service which will allow this, and I can keep it website based through this NVP API method but I'm lost. Anyone have any experience with this?

what will happen is when they arrive at paypal they will have a box on the left to enter credit card info, and a box on the right to login to their paypal account.

If the merchant is in the US you can process credit cards without leaving the website and going to Paypal.
