    Default Simplepie modify - Add extra data to RSS URL

    Hi, okey, i don't really know how to explain this but i'l give it a try.

    First of all, i am using http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simplepie-plugin-for-wordpress/ and Simplepie core.

    I want to parse RSSfeeds but i want to add some data to the outgoing URL for the parser on my own website.

    For exampel, i will fetch an feed called "How to hack simplepie", then the url to that webiste would be. http://www.domain.tld/how-to-hack-simplepie.

    Following so far? ok.

    I want to modify that outgoing url for statistics.

    So the feed that is parsed on my homepage should show "how to hack simplepie" but with the outgoing url: http://mydomain.tld/statisticsadress=http://www.domain.tld/how-to-hack-simplepie

    So on all the outgoing links it should be http://mydomain.tld/statisticsadress= before the real outgoing link.

    Does anybody know howto do this?
    I can try to explain more if needed.

    I've never used Simplepie before so I might be talking out my arse but couldn't you just edit the templates? Adding your url data right before the {ITEM_PERMALINK} tag? (e.g.
    Code:
    <a href="http://mydomain.tld/statisticsadress={ITEM_PERMALINK}">
    )

    I don't know if that's what you need or not but let me know what you need and I'm more than willing to try and help. (I just don't know your needs yet)

    Also, if that is not what you're referring to you can use the post-processing functionality if the urls you're referring to are in the content of the items.

    That might be it!

    spajk added 3 Minutes and 41 Seconds later...

    So, after i tried it dident work. Insted of posting the permalink to the feed it posted mydomain.tld/{ITEM_PERMALINK}/

    It couldent fetch the rss. :/
    Any other suggestions? Thanks for trying!

    Sorry that didn't work, I'll install Simplepie today so I can test it out and know what I'm talking about next time I post. I'll do that as soon as I get a few minutes free. Is their anything I need to know about your install? And was I on the right track? Is that the link you want replaced or was their other links you were referring to? I'll get back with you in a few hours sorry for the delay.

    I wanted to PM you but you don't have enough posts :-(

    Anyhow, I just installed the default simplepie plugin and changed the templates like I suggested and I'm getting links like I expect to be getting.

    At this point I really don't think I know what you need. if you could be more specfic I'll try to help but at this point I'm at a loss seeing how I'm not getting same errors using same instructions. (Perhaps you customized your simplepie install already?)

    If you go to My Life Developing » My Life Divulged to the world… and look on the right you'll see an RSS Feed that I modified the URL for. Let me know... (Sorry Dude)

    That was just a default install and the instructions I advised in the first post. So question to you, did you get your site to work or are you still having issues?
