    Hey,

I am trying to learn PHP properly, so if possible, could someone please post some guides regarding this matter? As it would be very helpful!

The site I started learning from is:
    http://www.php-mysql-tutorial.com/wi...l/default.aspx

Other than that I mostly learned from odd tutorials here and there whenever I wanted something that I didn't know how to do (or couldn't work out how to do).

I always recommend books to learn PHP, although W3Schools is a pretty good website to follow.

The way I learnt stuff was normally by getting a good book and carefully going through it. After you have the basics of programming covered things can get really easy. After getting to know the basics a good reference of what everything does would be very helpful.

From my experience, doing out tutorials and learning what each piece of code does is the best way to learn. After you get experience, you'll know what to put together to perform certain functions.

My advice is to do tutorial after tutorial to get a great grasp of what PHP is all about.
That is what I did on my host's forum. I just did tutorials and asked questions and they were very helpful.

I have taught php myself and I did it differently.

First I thought about a little project that I wanted to do.

Then I looked up what I needed to do on the internet.

php.net was my main resource together with some forums.

Books are so quickly out of date and to me they were never a real help.

If you're a programmer, use the chm file - it should be all you need. If you're not a programmer, first learn programming, then use the chm file. PHP is too simple a language to have to "learn" it.
