Thread: What's Best for Advertising?

Hey guys. Recently I invested a little bit in advertising for my site through MSN. Unfortunately, it hasn't gone to well. So I want to know who you guys think is the best search engine to advertise through so I can make the right choise...

i don't advertise through search engines...(though i would think google or yahoo since they have the most traffic)...spend my advertising money on targeted sites...buying private ads on forums, related websites to my niche, etc...

I'm willing to bet it has little to do with it being MSN.

I would say it might be your ad copy, and/or your landing page look and copy.

If you simply went to Google and yahoo with the same ads you probably would see similar results.

Once you get ads that perform well for you then you should use all 3 search engines to maximize your exposure.

I agree with Axemedia.
Try and rewrite your ad. Also it depends on what kind of site you are trying to advertise, if its a myspace resource site I dont think it would do well at all, no matter what search engine or wording you use.

What kind of site are you promoting? What did your ad say? Did you give them enough info in that ad? I like to make my ads tell them what it is before they enter, i dont want a wasted click.

Google is the best way of advertising, after that you can use twitter,facebook,forum posting, directory submission.its all a good option to increase your traffic.

SEM and social networking are best for advertisement. Try some ppc too.

I you are willing to pay for advertisements, I suggest that you go for PPC. But if you are lookin for something free, go on some social networking sites and promote you own site there.

No need to invest. Try SM.

i think bing is really good for advertising but adwords have far more reach..

Google is probably the best. But you may also want to try Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks. Facebook especially runs ads that target specific users. I've hard people doing very well with them.

You can do advertising without spending money. But if you want, you can trust Google for that.

I think social networking is very effective technique for advertising nowadays.

I think you will first try SEO techniques than using paid strategies. If you don't have free time, you will hire SEO services providers services.

Hey Golf ... I would suggest you that you should go for the Google advertisement... That is really authentic way to advertise and there are so many chances that your ad would be viewed.

Are you looking dor PPC Pay Per Click advertising like Google Adwords? or are you looking for organic results?

See, Best search is google for advertising. If you dont want to spent money on advertising then use social media for marketing. you can get more benifites there.

I agree with axe's post.

I'd suggest you talk to a professional and spend a little money there and learn from them then do it yourself.

It might be a little expensive at the start but if it works and makes you money it becomes a cheaper option dont you think?
