    Hi,

According to my experience, RSS feeds have nothing to do with Search Engine Optimization. But as you know, It definitely helps built sufficient number of return visitors which could link, recommend, spread your website to other people and their websites.

    I don't agree with webgeek.
RSS is a great marketing tool.

    Steps to take:
    1. Create RSS feed
    2. Go to Google Reader and subscribe to your own feed, then do the same with MyYahoo, YahooMail, Yahoo Explorer, MyMSN, MyAOL and any other websites that offer free RSS readers. As soon as you add your feed in Google Reader it automatically gets in Google database. If anybody would subscribe for your keywords in Google Alert they will automatically receive your links by email.
    3. Submit your feed to all free feeds directories like feedburner
If your feed dynamically connected to database is even better.

    Goog luck!:3071:

That's kinda creepy... subscribing to your own RSS feeds..

RSS is kinda tool that lets visitors who wish to kinda "subscribe" and "read" your "articles" via various RSS "readers".. AFAIK, its like a sort of notification for "interested" readers to be instantly "informed" that a new "post" or "article" is available from your site..

OR unless I'm not aware of the latest trend.. if so, I apologize.

    Thanks.

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. You ensure your privacy, by not needing to join each site's email newsletter. The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes big names like Yahoo News.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a great way to deliver content into the hands of potential website visitors. It is also a channel for syndicating your content onto others’ websites. And, of course, with that comes links — deep links into your latest products, best sellers, articles, buyers guides, blog posts, forum posts, special offers and clearance items — whatever you feature in your RSS feeds. Hopefully you will recall from my past columns how crucial links are to your search-engine rankings.

Yes, RSS Feeds are really helpful, since when you have RSS feeds its a news source which keeps on updating and makes the crawler visit your site frequently. A good content and keyword rich would definitely work.

Rss is not famous among the seo promotion because they don't give you guaranteed result from their search. Some of the rss members help you to get some promotion or drop some visitor true them.

RSS is the most convenient tool to inform visitors of a website about some renewals on this site, and no more. I think RSS can influence SEO results only implicitly.

RSS feed is commonly used to make a blog be crawled by search engine more often so it can pick up the lastest content through blog directory submission. Which means it still has something to do with SEO.
