Thread: huh... Google is #10

I just noticed this. When searching for "search", Google seems to rate itself much lower than the others.

In google... google comes up in the #10 spot
In yahoo... google is #2
In msn live... google is #1

But with PR... they rate themselves the highest of the 3.

If they are the number #1 search engine... Why would this be ?

PR does not equate to search results for starters.

lol, you are already searching in Google when searching for "search". So why rate yourself higher when you are already being used

I realize PR is like a bowling trophy (does not do much more than look good on the mantle)... but I always thought it was part of their algo equation (weighted towards sites with higher PR).

Good point DM... but have your ever watched what some people will do on their computer IE: I see them typing in a full URL into a search bar to "find" a website instead of typing that same URL in their browser's location bar.

Do this experiment - type in any search word or phrase and then look at the PR of the first 10 or 20 results. You will see that there is no real corelation of PR to SERP and will often see PR1 or PR0 listed higher than a PR6 for example.

lol ya, I have seen that. Even my granny does that. But I cannot point out her mistakes; she is very grumpy. hehe. So I let her carry on with what she does.
BTW, offtopic...when I see the history of her site visits, all I can say it lmao. She is actively into the adult thingy's :slaugh:

it is all about keywords and quality content. Pr is a year old it does not matter as much.

Even search for Search Engine in Google can not find Google.com in first 3 pages.....

Now a days Pr and alexa ranking haven't any Importance for SE ranking , its just content Who have importance For Se Ranking

To rank on SERP is more important than PR..

Maybe they are just being modest.
