Now we use different software to get to the Internet, but what was the very first one?

I think Netscape was the first well known browser.

There were about 7 browsers in early 2002

I didn't know about it. I tried to read NCSA Mosaic in wikipedia and I find it year 1993.. Too bad that they don't maintain their service.

My first browser back in year 2k is IE then I shifted to FireFox

Mine is IE too I could not remember using different browser than IE coz most of computer shop in our area before were using IE then Mozilla

Netscape Navigator is the first web browser as i know. Later Microsoft developed own browser and they came along with Windows OS as Internet Explorer.

IE was the first 'browser' I used...before that the good old days of telnet

Not sure if it was the 1st browser but the first one i used was netscape navigator, ahh memories.

Maybe Netscape is the first browser. But i prefer to Mozilla Firefox, because it's to good for the SEO.

I always thought it was Netscape Navigator, but I think there was something before that as mentioned somewhere in this thread. Old school man...

If I recall correctly, the earliest version of Navigator was built on the Mosaic engine.
