I'm trying to get a site indexed & in the top ten in google &
I don't want to waste my time on sites that do not help get a
site ranked.
I know sites like digg, squidoo, hubpages are the major ones
which one would be the best to concentrate on.

Wordpress
Digg
Delicious
StumbleUpon
Squidoo
Hubpages
I use just two Digg and Reddit - this combined with a couple of other tricks gets a site indexed within 24 hours
id say squidoo, wordpress and hubpages, but for quick kick social submissions, and for some small traffic stumbleupon
If I'm going to choose between web 2.0 sites, the top six ones that I would prefer would be Squidoo, HubPages, Blogger, WordPress, Digg, and Reddit.
