I think, Google is better in providing conversion rather than Facebook because users are normally search for the products or services they want in search engines specially in Google.

If you use SEO technique Google will be provide you organic traffic otherwise facebook is best social media network site.

Facebook can bring short term fast visitors if you have a lot of fans or friends. But, google can bring long term visitors if you have good seo on your site.

It would depend, because google and facebook are two different things, if you are looking to do PPC, go with facebook
But if you are looking to get traffic, go with google

Me to agree with Dking and JackRT that Google and Facebook both are different personality.

Google is a S.E. i.e. Search engine
Facebook is a S.N.S i.e. Social Networking Site

So there is no comparison between this in matter of traffic.
Yes you can use Facebook in order to increases traffic by bulding social network so that you can get better SERP i.e. Search engine ranking position.

Getting traffic from facebook is most easiest way but its really hard to get traffic from google search.

I think it still Google. Because people are usually using facebook as their past time. Majority are using Google for services and major searches.

As i am only doing SEO for my website then surly google is the best sources of traffic to my website. Previous person on this post do the social media thing but traffic was very less. She was working on facebook too but no traffic, may be some thing wrong with technique but i will try this kind of thing after seo... So currently google is best for getting traffic....

Both are good source of driving traffic but Google is much better and utile except of Facebook.

Facebook is very good source for boosting the traffic. but facebook gives is nofollow and Google give us organic and real user traffic.

Yes I agree with you that mostly peoples maximum time spend on facebook but I thought Google and Facebook to different type sites. Facebook a community and Google is a search engine.

Google and Face book are totally different things.There can be no comparison between them.Google is a search engine with many other helpful features.Face book is a social networking site.Google is more popular as a search engine for searching every thing we need to have in our daily life.Face book can be used as a source of entertainment.

Both are best in their own way. But google is somewhat better than facebook...

Totally agreed. To get constant and regular traffic without spending money too much, just go with Google.
If you have enough money then you can go with FaceBook that will drive lot of traffic immediately.

Both are different things, both helps to generate traffic, but it depends that if you are applying some SEO techniques then Google helps to generate a good traffic and as Facebook is a social media application it also helps to generate traffic.

Face book has upper had in this. Google undoubtedly has great search engine but facebook has all the information about you. How old are you? what's your sex? are you married or not. what're you hobbies and all those stuff. with this information they can present a lot more relevant adds than google. Google can't just ask all this when you perform a search. But they have a plan too. they made google + for some reasons.

Talking about today then Facebook will help to get more traffic then Google, because the fans of Facebook are more as compare to Google.

I think google is well more important. Because if you got good rank in google. You 'll probably 've good permanent traffic.

I agree that Facebook can bring more traffic to your site given that you are able to follow basic steps in using the full potential of the social media but if not then google is better.

There is no doubt that if you are successful in bringing your site to the first page of the search result ,Google will definitely be your topmost source of niche traffic to your site.FB goes hand in hand for site promotion ,given the viral nature of the site.

It really depends what market your in.

In most cases for commercial sites Google is by far the best. But if your in a social style business e.g weddings and or night clubs etc then facebook could be very good.

The idea behind facebook is you have a lot of people talking about you and becoming friends etc(they are in control not you), Google works the other way, people are searching for something and you want to be in the results so you can take advantage of the opportunity.

The 2 are very different.

Unless you are thinking about doing PPC (pay per click advertising) then I personally believe facebook is better than Google due to the fine filters available to you.
