I've been working to increase my Google PageRank, and I just added over a dozen pages to my website all linking back to my home page. My page rank immediately dropped from a 3 to a 0 and I don't understand why.

The first reason is that you added duplicated content, then you need to index new pages in the search engine, then do you really need these pages to make your site heavier?
Can you tell me your new web pages content unique and good quality or not?

Hi Rick,
If you're website was small compared to the number of pages you added Google will re-evaluate your site and give it a new page rank depending on a few factors such as:
Relevance
Unique content
On page seo
Backlinks pointing to your index and inner pages
Age of your site / domain
Plus quite a few others
Really don't worry too much about page rank, concentrate on on page seo and getting or creating backlinks to your site, both index and inner pages.
Do this and your page rank will take care of itself.
Cheers
Pete

At first I would like to say u that PR (page rank) is associated to each page of ur website. Now if u add new page then they must have the PR 0. One the other hand if you say that that decreases ur home page PR then that must be a temporary fluctuation, which often happens. If you did not get it back then there must be another reason. The reason may be u got caught by google panda for having duplicate content.

Whenever you add any links or new pages to your website, the total PR of the site get distributed over various sub pages of the site according to the various factors and inter linking between them. SO if you have new site and you will keep continue adding new pages and external link without any link building activity for the website, your PR will remain as it is or may decrease for some main pages.
