I need some suggestions for search engine optimization (SEO), Link Building, Directory Submission and Marketing for the site. Anybody from computer background can help me how to start for it.

You should select/choose your target market and site's niche, and you must choose good keywords for your site cause it'll be the foundation of it.

Hmm...SEO is a technique to increase you rankings on major search engines...

And link building, directory submission are the part of off-page seo... you could find a lot of articles about it here...

Um, well that wasn't what I meant, I thought you're asking for assistance with your website, but if not, it's not proper in forums to post links to your site, but I know you're new and still learning all this stuff, we're here to teach. I hadn't clicked the link yet.

Commonly the SEO basic technics are

article submission
directories submission for PR
classified ads
groups submission
forums
social bookmarking

Try those first then you go to the another level
if you think that this are not too much effective.

I think this guy knows more about "computers" than he claims. First of all, the site has page rank, and all his footer links are keyword text, and his urls are as pretty as you can get with regular php mod rewrite. I'm thinking he's posting just for an extra link maybe. And it is rather odd to name their company "Web Designing Company" that's sooooo generic, very stupid.

He was adding a "fake sig" to all posts, I pm'd him to explain he can now have a signature, and to stop adding a fake sig as it's not acceptable. You could be right, the site is very professional looking, definitely not a first site for anyone in my opinion, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, for now.

So back to this question about SEO. I have to agree with you on this. I took a look at it last night and I even noticed a section on SEO. If your trying to promote SEO services I don't think it is wise to ask about search engine optimization for the site that is promoting SEO.

I was pretty excited to find a blog post by Matt Cutts about linkbaiting. It's very well put together. I'd try it out (I can't post URLs yet, so you'll just have to search on Google for "link bait matt cutts"--it's the first result). A general search for linkbait techniques yields a lot of other useful stuff.

1. Directory Submission – it is useful if the directory has quality links and doesn't contain bad links. Check out my list of directories.

2. Forums Posting – links from other quality forums are ok but it's better if you will get links from related forums.

3. Blog Commenting – when I do blog commenting I make sure that the blog is related to my site.

4. Submission to Bookmarking Site – make sure that you don't spam the bookmarking site with lots of submission links from your site. Remember you need permanent link if you spam them, your link/account will get deleted. Check out my list of bookmarking site.

5. Yahoo Answer Posting – useful for frequently crawling of search engine.

6. Submission to Niche Directory – it's good to get links from niche directory. It adds value to your link relevancy.

7. Article Submission – it doesn't give high traffic but the keywords that is use as anchor text in article content helps to improved SERP.

8. Press Release Submission – like article the keywords in anchor text helps in SERP and also helps for promotional campaign.

9. Blog Post – if you have blog for the site that you were optimizing and has related blog post with keywords on content linking to your site, the keywords that you use as anchor text will help your site improved rankings. It also give traffic to your site.

When doing link building It doesn't matter to me whether the site is no-follow or do-follow as long as it's related to my site. I also don’t look for the PR of the site because if you want your site to have natural links you should not just build links to get links from do-follow with high PR site.

You could be right, the site is professional looking, definitely not a dating site for everyone in my opinion, but I give the benefit of the doubt for now.

I'm thinking of sending his only link with a beat more. And it is rather odd name of the business' Web Designing Company, which is sooo common, very stupid.

SEO is classified into two namely:

On-Page Optimization - title tags, meta tags, description, keywords, content, alt attributes, robots.txt, h1/h2 tags and sitemap.

Off-Page Optimization - article submission, blog commenting, forum posting, classified ads, press release, online group posting, link exchange, social bookmarking, hub page, link wheel and squidoo are just some of them.
