In my point of view On page optimization refers to optimizing a site by rendering the html content of the page like :
Adding meta tags.
including keywords in title tag
bold, italicize, underline the keywords in the content
using keyword in alt attribute for images
Proper use of keywords in starting paragraph of the content.
On page optimization is directly related to content and infrastructure of a web page. In on page , we optimize the title, meta description, image tag, H1 tag, etc.
On Page Optimisation is optimising your website in a way that it can rank better in search engines and improve visitor satisfaction.there are some major things that are required to follow during optimization of your website.
# Place the most important keyword phrase close the beginning of the page title.
# Use only one H1 header per page.
# Place the most important keyword in H1 tag.
# Use Bold / Italic / Underline for your keyword phrase for extra weight in contents.
# Use bulleted lists to make content easier to read.
# Use ALT tag for images, so that crawler can know about images.
# Use text based navigation.
# Use CSS to creating navigation menu instead of JavaScript.
# Create a valid robot.txt file.
# Create a HTML site map for crawler and user.
# Create a XML site map for Google crawler.

On page optimization is a process in which we make our page to search engine and user friendly. In on -page we use following things:
meta tag,
site map
use of alt tag
use of h1 tag
content optimization
keyword prominence etc.
