Wanted : Social networking/night life site

Looking for a social networking/night life website created. Or if anyone knows of similar scripts.

User Registration:

Personal
-Free Membership
-Paid Membership

Business
-Free Membership
- Paid membership

Users can then create their own profile, sorta like myspace but not as complex. They can add friends. Post Public/Private events. Invite people to events. Post comments. send messages. They also have a personalized calendar that they can make public or private (only friends can see) They can add events to them or a simple note of what they are doing that day.

Main page will show Business Events and then Public Events and then private events(Which are only events in your friend list) People can then view events and then add it to their Calendar which can be viewed by their friends. Events listed will also show how many people are participating. Users have a choice to show their name if they are participating to the event.

Other things include a job classifieds where business accounts can post jobs. Personal accounts can post resumes and also post things they may have for sale.

Should be able to search/view friends by zip code or name and add them from there.

Some kind of flirting system where you can poke a member.

There may be other minor things that need to be added that are not mentioned above.

Would a standard social networking script suffice? It'd be pretty easy to modify.

it may work. I can always hire someone to edit it or try to edit it myself. Besides from basic profiles I just need users to be able to add events and stuff like that.

it is not free, but i have used phpfox on 3 sites already and it has done just about everything i needed it to do. might take a look at it if you get a chance.

I checked out phpFox. I am not looking for something like myspace. This site is mainly going to be used for events.

i recomment phpfox too its nice script i'm using on my medical students site and doing pretty well.

Don't get izabi if you plan to get big it has issues plus development is kinda frozen atm. I'd recommend dolphin if you plan to go with paid membership.

You have events on phpfox as well, also if you have a good look around it, there are so many things for your members to do and join. And if the longer they stay on your site, the better. Also I have found most people dont like myspace/facebook/bebo etc and like the easy setup of the php. Also you dont need to have much brains to use it, I can :twisted:
