Default Using Others` Articles Worthwhile?

I know that well written articles on one`s site can help get noticed by Google, and just as importantly it adds `value` to the site for visitors.

I see lots of sites offering articles which have been `contributed` to be copied to others` sites, as long as certain rules are followed. For example `no use of "nofollow" to the original source of the article, must be reprinted in full without any editing` etc etc.

My question is, of what real value are those articles, however well written, if they are copied and pasted on maybe dozens, if not hundreds of sites? It`s no longer original material, so the search engines are unlikely to index it. Granted, visitors won`t necessarily know it`s reprinted material. But, is it really worthwhile doing?

Ah well, I decided to go ahead and create some additional pages on some of my sites to reprint some articles.

I`m using recent articles, well written, and relevant to the themes of each site.

And, of course, I`m making sure that I abide by the article sites` rules so that I don`t fall foul of any copyright issues. It`s actually easier than I thought.

Yes I occasionally use one or two that are relevant to the topic. I edit typos though.

Hi,

The two questions you are asking are good.

Are the articles good maybe, maybe not for the search engines? Why I say maybe is, article sites all around the net get the same article posted to them to hand out to us. People open new article sites does it stop them from getting indexed? So if it really hurts you why wouldn't it not hurt an article site?

People need content these are your buyer they are the ones who stay at your site. Click for page to page looking for info. My thought is give them the info they are looking for even if it is from an article site.

I am still new at this but so far not one spider as bought anything from our site yet. When they do I might change my mind.

Search engines penalize websites that use duplicate content. I would recommend that you stay completely away from using others articles. I write all of my own articles by myself so they are 100% unique. Using your own content has many benefits, especially in the long run and you will experience a generally higher rank in the search engines.

Using other's article is okay as long you give credits to the author by placing their links on your post. But I would suggest that it's better to create your own article just to provide your visitors interesting and unique articles.

Copied data are useless. Yes it can be modified. Some times I do it and re-write the others article in my own language.

If you’re thinking of putting up another article bank or directory I would advise against it since the market is saturated. If you have a niche site and want to blend mostly your own content in with some outside articles, then as long as these articles are on topic, I think this may be a valuable resource for your visitors. But, don’t depend upon these articles to pull in search engine traffic because they will likely be buried in the SERPs due to duplicate content.

Google does not automatically penalize any site for using duplicate content.
What they do is, just not show the page with the duplicate content to a searcher.

Otherwise, 50% or more of the article directories would be penalized and not shown at all by google.

Opening another article directory?
Go for it!
Again, do not worry about how many are out there and do not listen to those who say not to open a directory.
Always room for another article directory, whether a niche or general.
Just do not start off with a database of articles others use!
Start with a clean slate and have authors submit their articles.

Man, how many times I hear from people about google penalizing sites for duplicate content, I could have a bunch of money!

I would not be using other peoples content. duplicate content is not going to help. Take the little bit of time needed and write your own page's. It will be much better in the long run

Why bother with using a copied content in terms of SEO? SE bots doesn't have the capacity to tell if an article is useful - it's only basis would be the articles structuring, keyword density, etc.

Its really a bit risky as well for duplicate content issues. I wouldn't really suggest on that

I think that the best thing to do is to create your own article then you can include some synopsis or small parts of related article/s from others but make sure that you'd leave credit to your source/s to make it CLEAN and FAIR
