Affliate Marketers Any advantage to pimping iTunes links?
For those of you that are into affiliate marketing, does iTunes have an affiliate program or something like that? Lately on my DJ forum we've had 5 or 6 spammers sign up and just post an iTunes link to a specific album, along with a "helpful" short description. Is there some positive effect for getting people to click on iTunes links? Does it bump the album up on a most viewed list? It doesn't look like an affiliate link to me but I wonder what the heck is going on. It's the first I've seen of this type spam, I'm dubbing it iSpam.  Thanks in advance, Dan

There is an itunes affiliate program, I saw someone post a link to it the other day so i'll try and find it.

Why hunt for a link? Do what I did, got to apple.com. As an iTunes affiliate, you can earn 5% commission on all qualifying revenue generated by links to iTunes on your website and in email. So, at what, 99 cents per tune, that is not quite 5 cents per tune sold. Need to sell a heck of a lot of tunes to make some decent scratch. |
