Thread: How to promote a squidoo lens

I just created a new squidoo lens at Best Shopping Deals

Now how do I promote it?

Promote it in much the same way you would any site, digg, stumble, article writing, directories (there are directories out there specifically for Squidoo lenses), also be sure to get involved with the Squidoo forum.

Other ideas - create similar topic lenses and interlink, join relevant Squidoo groups. create a hubpage and link to your lens, make use of your 4th signature link....

Have some shopping forums and link builds with shopping niches, it much better to have quality links and relevant also....

Not sure how effective they are today but digg, delicous and stumbleupon used to give lenses a little boost plus you could go down the article road as well as joining related groups on squidoo or joining your own.

I would have to agree that squidoo pages in and of themselves won't serve your main sites much unless they get some authority. After, I built this lens http://www.squidoo.com/etf_trend_trading_reviews I social book marked it plus linked to it from some article sites. The key is relevant material that's got a unique slant. It seems nowadays getting content to go viral is actually becoming easier than force linking it to page one.:fine:

that is a great way to promote your squidoo lens, I also suggests email blasting, sending emails to at least 50k people inviting them to visit your blog, I am sure a 20% lickthrough. do that every day, and make sure that you have a very nice and informative ontent so that people will keep on coming back.

You are already promoting it by posting a link here. Now, follow all the tips given by the guys in this thread and you will be on your way to the top. One thing you must not do, however, is spam forums and blogs with irrelevant links, that way all your links will be removed.

Take your time comment sensibly and constructively, and all your links will remain unmoderated. I've tried it - you will be guaranteed good backlinks to your squidoo lens.

I really appreciate your suggestions but I dont agree with this to promote it like a website, if we have to do this then why not promote to a site itself.

There are forums specially made for squidoo lenses, and try to be active on the groups you were joining to increase your followers. also make use of social media sites to increase visitors.

I agree with the other posters' ideas. You may also try using free blogs for links where you can add your squidoo lense there.

One way to get traffic is to do some networking on other lenses. Post comments in guestbook’s of lenses with a similar topic as your own, and add your link. Participate in discussions like on any other forum, ask for feedback, give advice, and you'll get some attention. You can also increase the SEO quality of your lens by adding relevant tags. Try creating two or three lenses on the same topic - this will increase the number of tags you can use, and will also increase your overall visitor stats.

Comment on other Squido lenses with your site link.

Also share your squido lens link with twitter, linked in and face book friends.

It's a disaster recipe. In the best case your comments would be deleted.
You should comment without links, the link will be in your profile

Commenting on blogs with a link to your lens page helps

simple as we do for a site
