I don't do enough with twitter. Hard to imagine they could have any kind of value at 140 character or less posts. Guess if it's your thing then go for it.

I think the value come from the number of people that follow you. Kinda like the number of people that read your blog.

neat idea but I wouldn't put too much stock in it, honestly who is going to buy a twitter account from the average person? I have heard of some cases but you would have to be quite popular

I doubt it's really valued at what they say. It's probably just a way to give people a general idea. Their site does not even say anything about any calculations. When you click the 'About' link at the bottom, this is what it says:

Yea, i am only a one man team so it is impossible for me to do SEO, Social Media, Site Maintenance and work on my internal link structure.

So I cannot see myself dedicating my services to selling Social Media Pages, because i have no one else to work on my site for me while I try to explore new endeavors.

However, even though most people do not care about the webmaster side of the operation, I hooked up my twitter account to my facebook and myspace.

In doing so I send a tweet about every single little update or new site feature launch. This way I am contributing to my Social Media while working on my sites internal on page optimization.

Not sure if I have a secret..I tweet a lot, I ReTweet a lot and I reply alot! Do have around 2500 followers.

Hi,

Retweet is when you like a tweet someone else made and you tweet it to your followers.

The button to do so is right under their tweets after you log in and read other tweets.

Well you have basically 2 options
(1)If you see something interesting on your twitter page, you just "hover your pointer" over it and you should see

just click on Retweet
, which would send that message to all your followers
(2) or you can just copy and paste the message....with "RT @Username" before/after the message

Like when you "like" something on twitter, your name would show up on click.

Yeah - the post shows up on your profile, because in esscence you've sent it.

Now That I learned what a retweet is and how to use it here on the forums, I find my self now using it quite often.

The link is under each tweet. Then your RT also creates a link to their twitter account using the @ operator.

A retweet is a tweet that has been tweeted again. The thing is that it is up to others who follow you, I believe, to re tweet what was already twitted.

Oh wow, hopefully the retweets will help increase the value/reputation of my twitter account.

Pitifully just checked the value today, it is telling me that my twitter page is only worth $14 lol :fine:

Btw, I didn't know this until yesterday. Twitter limits your account to following 2,000 people unless you pass some thresholds.
