Someone has one made, but the colors are a bit off.

You need on that matches the template for the directory, don't you.

More I looked at mister greenie dawg, the more he became uncute.

I'm my worst critic - so here are three more you can test

I like the third one!
Got it up to see how it looks and I like it better than the first one.

Dawg does not look mean, yet still comes across as tough.

I just added a new one.

Actually I think that looks pretty good! The mascot's colors don't have to match the rest of the site, just my opinion though... Your logo, iowadawg's site, I'm just an observer.
