Just noticed today that namecheap is now selling hosting, which Ihadn't seen before.
Anyone tried it yet? Is it reliable?

No, you haven't tried it,
or no it's not reliable? :P
No I have not tried it![]()
It seems ok from the looks of it.
It's about the same specs as my 1and1, which I want to move from.
Just wanna hear if anyones tried it yet.

namecheap is a really good company to use. the interface is simple to use and they have really good coupons to help you save money.
i use namecheap and godaddy as my primary registries.
People around the traps are varying in their opinion. Some think it is way lacking in support and others think it is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm not rushing out to use them until they get their act together somewhat more than at present.

its one of the favorite registries over at namepros.com - a big domain registry forum. I doubt all those can be wrong since it is what most of them professionally do. just my 2 cents

I know that when it was first introduced people were complaining about lack of support (or support taking awhile since only a couple of guys man the forums and help desk there), but after it's first few weeks it seems to be getting better feedback. I haven't personally tried it myself (very content with Host Gator and my dedicated servers), but it's pretty affordable for those who want to give it a shot. Perhaps host a smaller website with them and see how it goes. Might end up being a very viable option for cheap hosting.
Well, I have a similar package with 1and1 right now.
And I just noticed this, and figured I'd make a switch.
Since, everyone complains about 1and1, and even I've had some issues.
Thought it'd be a nice change of pace..

I have seen mixed reviews about their hosting.
But they are very good as a registrar. Personally, I would keep my host and registrar at two different points.
By the way, did you get any chance to do a quick search about their hosting? Forums and google will be a good place to see reviews about them.
Yeah, I use them for my own domains, I know they're a good registrar.
And i attempted to google a review, but got nothing but registrar reviews.
What I was told was never register and host under the same company, if you register domain name with namecheap try to get another hosting company to host it and vice versa.
I support http://www.webtalkforums.com
I've heard that theory too, which is why I'm using namecheap. :P
Dunno, don't think I'll end up with them.
What's the matter ? I would like to know the reason ?. Is it same as 1and1 ?. I have not enough idea about these two.Hence i wish to know more about them .
I just went through their site. I think their package is almost good. And also i read some of their TOS and AUP , it seems to be good ,i couldn't see any unfriendly rules there. But I have some doubt about 1and1 because I saw some bad review of them, about their technical support from some forums.
I use them to host my names not my services, I wouldn't like to put all my eggs in one basket. Don't ask me why as i don't have a technical reason for it
