Question Can a domain with ns1 & ns2 servers still use another host?

    Hey guys,

I have a question for you. I have my blog's domain. bigdan.us on my VPS and I have two IPs tied to ns1 and ns2 . bigdan.us

I'm looking to move this blog to another host but I have sites which I'm keeping on my server that use ns1 and ns2 . bigdan.us.

My question is if I changed bigdan.us's namesever to say ns1.godaddy.com and ns2.godaddy.com will my nameserver entries still work and point to my server.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Yes as you can have ns1, ns2, ns3, ns4 and so on for the same domain. You simply need to have the nameservers regg'd with your registar.

I have one server where domainexample.com is hosted elsewhere than ns1.domainexample.com and ns2.domainexample.com as I had to move the domain. The domain however has a subdomain that I kept on the server

    Yeah, You can do that.
You can even create two more childnameservers at your registrar ns3/ns4.bigdan.us with the IP addresses of the new server and can use them instead of dodaddy nameservers.

The old ones, that is ns1/ns2 still can have old Ip addresses and can be used for domain resolving to the old server.

I have a couple of sites that are ns1 at one host and ns2 at another host.
That way if one host goes down for a period, the site is still up.

That is not a proper way to use for fail over service.
It won't be an issue if you are having completely static pages, but if you have dynamic pages how will you synchronize data between two servers?
    Also, what about your mails?
