Thread: What does it mean?

Well i just happened to try this Mihalism search script. After the installation I just tried to search something. But it gives me this error. I use cPanel and is it got something to do with it...?

Here's the error...

Failed to retrieve XML search data.

This is most likely because your host hates the file_get_contents() function.

Please try contacting your hosting company before asking for support by Mihalism, Inc.

Anybody please can explain to me this on how to solve this problem?

Best approach is asking your webhost or support staff about this.. OR contact the script author himself.



Just my 2 cents and a half.

Because it can be used maliciously, a lot of hosts disable the "file_get_contents" ability, you can try asking them to turn it on for your account or else the script would have to be reworked to use an alternate method.

Well thanks for the reply Kalina. I would speak to my host provider about this and lets see what can be done.

But, is anybody using this script? As it is available for free...!

Well problem solved. Its working fine now. The problem was the function was disabled for me. Works fine now...
