Hello does any one knows a free website monitoring tool that doesnt suck??

Service or Software?

Nagios is the best free software out there, but it isn't easy at all to set up.

Thanks dude!! :twisted: Nagios is nice but im in need of a service that provides a bulk number of websites to be monitored for free. Is there any one?

Not sure how advanced it has to be, but if you're looking to monitor visitor activity I have always used www.statcounter.com

Most if not all of the free services, limit the # of sites. Best solution is if you have multi webhosts, setup a script/system to cross check the sites. If you don't have multi webhosts, I guess barter with another webmaster.

I dont know how to use multi webhost

But right now im using Integrio Uptime scout but its usage makes my system too slow.

Can you suggest any software that is free? (website uptime tool like integrio)

I use Websitepulse.com, They are really good.

I always have this uptime monitoring thing check my site - host-tracker.com. Seems to work decently.

Use a website like serviceuptime.com, get it to email and text you when the site goes offline. It is better than downloading a program that will constantly be pinging your server/host and lead to a slow computer - as you have mentioned your are experiencing now. If you can get someone else to do it for you, with very little hassle - then go for it.

Check dotcom-monitor's 'free' package -- this is a true commercial website monitoring service available for free (the only condition is you place their logo on your site -- it's not too much comparing with their usual prices )

Statcounter is good. I think they offer top notch information.

Did you have experience with some that were not good? For example, mon.itor.us is free with unlimited checks, email notifications, internal monitoring, and visitor tracking - basic.

I have used internetseer not sure whether they are the best but always got any downtime notifications promptly.

I think websiteimpulse.com is fine..My old one was montastic.com..a free one ..Lol
