Default Looking for a new webhost

I currently spend $12 a year on hosting and that works great for me because it's mainly used for small personal projects but as of late I don't like my current host. So I am looking to get some one else.

The reason I want to change is because the tech support is not answering my questions anymore and they have been having a lot of down time.

So what I am looking for is at least 1GB space and 5GB transfer. I hast 3 domains and each has multiple sub domains. I also have multiple email accounts running. My main concern is price but I'm now seeing that quality is more important. (my current host was great until they sold out)

I would like something between $3 and $5 a month. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hosting Puppy, LOL, that's actually my current host. And I have had them for going on 2 years now and up until recently they have been great. I'm glad to hear that someone else is still having success with them. Perhaps it's a problem with me.

My site was down all last night. I check it this morning and it comes right up. That is so annoying.

Some says that Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting, and Dedicated Website Hosting w/ cPanel - HostGator is pretty good but never tried it yet, so i'm not sure.

I pay $6.00 per month but I think you can get cheaper. I use godaddy and never waited more than 2 minutes for tech support. Never had downtime in 2 years.

I have been with A1 Web Hosting Solutions,Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed,Headache Free Web Hosting for about a year and am very happy with them. Their reseller packages are quite reasonable and easier to add sites when you want. You can get a lite one for $3.95 a month.

That's right up my side of the street. I really like the price, and it has a personal recomendation even better.

I've been with HP to long I always feel like giving them one more chance. And so i have this time as well. I'll continue to stick with them until I have another outage and then I'll move.

So now that I have the host situated lets ask a different question.

Is their a service that I can sign up for that will alert me of site downage?

Honestly, you cannot expect much for $1/month. Even if they outsource their support to be cheap it's going to be about a minimum of $3/ticket so if you submit 4 tickets in the whole year you've already caused them to make absolutely no profit.

Realistically you cannot expect a high level of service for $12/year now $7~12/month you can expect a much higher level of service and this is the average price range for decent hosting in my experiences.

    Best of luck!

I'm working with TMZ Hosting and their service is very good. But if you need support I suggest you Hostgator. Maybe their prices a little more expensive than TMZ Hosting but you always will be satisfied with their support service. Don't forget they serve 24h support.

When I first joined my current host the support was almost instant, well very fast none the less. But they sold out and since then the support is practically null, for me anyhow.

I am seeing more and more great hosts that are selling out to other people and then they just go down hill. Its usually the ones that have been around a year or so and then sell to some cowboy and then just crumble

This has just happened to me, and the newbies have no idea what they are doing, no support and sites go down a lot, its embarrasing esp with reseller.

Currently we do not have reseller packages, I don't know where you saw this, but the proxy packages need a lot of bandwidth. They are on different servers that can handle the load, space and bandwidth.

It is good that you have realized that the cost of the web host should not be the main determining factor when choosing a web host but matters most is the server specifications, bandwidth allocation, service level agreement (SLA), and the Customer service support. So when choosing the web host again put this into consideration
