    Default Reseller account transfer

I know how to make backups and to transfer each client account separately, but I am just wondering if it is possible to transfer all customer accounts in WHM at once. You see, if for example I have more than 200 customers (hosting accounts) and wish to switch to another hosting company it will be difficult for me to transfer each account separately, that’s why I am asking this question. Has anyone had reseller account transfer experience? Thanks in advance!

You should contact with a big company which transfer all your datas form old source to your new location. Suggest you Hostgator. Contact with them.

WHM has a built in option for such a case, it however rarely is enabled on a standard hosts end to work.

Could you please explain where this option is available in WHM panel?

I think you need to ask your host to activate it, then you should see a link in the menu on WHM.

You can use SSH to backup the entire /home directory. Move everything over to your new host and then use a copy of your configuration files from your old server to your new one and everything should work.

Assuming your moving from cPanel to cPanel

You say "reseller account transfer" which leads me to assume you are going from one reseller to another. If this is the case you will not have any easy way to do this without going one by one that I am aware of.

You will not have access to the tool that will let you transfer all of the accounts together at once and you will not have access to the /home directory in SSH.

Generally 200 accounts is *quite a lot* for a reseller account and unless they are all static pages with just html and some images then you would probably want to move to a very high end VPS or at least a low end dedicated server.

I assume you're transferring from your current provider due to resource usage limits or issues (cpu/memory/disk space/transfer/etc...) and with 200 accounts you're going to have an issue with just about any reseller account that you could sign up for.

I do wish you the best of luck.

In my own view this is only possible if the reseller account to be transferred are from the same account and are being transferred to the same account. If that is the case then putting same version of WHM-stable on both servers and using its "Copy an account from old server" feature. After copying the accounts change the nameservers for those accounts. For every account on old server use generate a full cp backup and let cPanel FTP it to a dummy account on the new server. Restore on new server and change nameservers for those accounts

There are various ways in which you can transfer the reseller account (WHM) to another host. These are:

    1. Take a backup of all the files in both the server where the reseller account is located and the server where the other host is located. But beforehand check the IP that is freely available in the new server because if there are lesser IPs in the new server then there will be problem.

    2. Before you start the migration then reduce the minimum TTL for both the olddomain.com and the newdomain.com to 3600. Before you start the migration process, check whether the website of the domain registrar as well as the management features of the DNS are working fine. The registrar’s site is needed to be up when the nameservers information for resellers is needed to be updated.

    3. Then while transferring stop the FTP as well as the Exim process and see that the Cpanels chksrvd process is not restarting them. This will ensure that no data is lost during this transferring. Go to the Service Manager in the Service Configuration tab. Then uncheck the SMTP Server and the FTP server and then click on ‘Save’.
