There are a lot of web hosting services around the net. Just Google it or Yahoo or Bing whatever your choice. You should come up with a good number. There are the popular ones but if you are seriously thinking about SEO you should not host your sites where a lot of your potential back linkers may be (Inique class-c IP address).

Then again don't just pick the ones you come across without investigating. I had a very bad experience with hosting services and I am still feeling the impact up till today. Maybe you should read The Dangers Of Cheap And Unproven Web Hosting Services in order to get an idea.

There are a lot of decent hosts out there. It might depend a little on what you intend to do or what kind of site you are starting. Check some review sites. Once you find one that you are thinking about check their forums and what others are saying about them. The cheap shared hosting is tough to say. They all put a lot of accounts per server. That is how they make their money. Some are better at managing them and identifying problematic accounts and doing something about them, and others are not.

Have you done a search or tried any hosts out yet?
It seems like you are just starting out so I recommend a shared hosting plan.
I know when I first started out with my current provider, I got a free domain so that is something you should be on the outlook for as well.

I emphasize that you try out the host first. Test their customer service to see if they can accommodate all of your needs.
When I first started out, I called customer service at 3AM and they actually picked up and answered questions. This is why I am still with them.

I think you have to look for a comparison site which will provide you hosting companies review and comparison tool to compare their hosting plans. Also you can search in Google as "Best Hosting Companies". From this you will definitely find a good list of comparison sites.
