Red face site down - responsible registerar or hosting company

I have recently registed domain with godaddy.com and hosted my site to some other hosting company. My site goes down on every few days for arround one hour. Firstly I want to ask that is this possible that some registerar is responsible for downtime of a site? Or the downtime of a site is 100% hosting company related matter?

    Regards,

    Regards,
You need to monitor to find out if it is your application or the server that is down. If your application is not working, it is your responsibility. Hosting company is responsible for the server uptime.

GoDaddy is quite a popular host and have good track records.

Independent monitoring of server and application will help you find out the real cause of the problem.

I have never heard of the name register causing any problems with downtimes. It is almost certainly your web hosting company. If you found a super unlimited deal for dirt cheap, chances are you found one of the crappy hosting companies. I have tried a few and most often cheap equals crap.

There are some good hosting companies but you have to do your research. I was lucky because I found a great one and I only had one downtime in a year and it was for less than 20 minutes for a major server problem. Ask around and get honest recommendation next time prior to signing up.

He does not have hosting with GoDaddy, the name is registered there. It is hosted elsewhere as he stated.

Your registrar would have nothing to do with your website being up or down. The only exception would be the name servers, but that would not cause intermittent problems like you are describing. In your case it is the host.

Thank you all for replying on my problem.

I am also thinking that the hosting company has some matter which effecting the site uptime. Are you people can help me finding some hosting company who has good track of record in hosting services? I am looking for followings majors in hosting (windows based).

    1. ASP (persist email) component
    2. Unlimited or 999 email addresses
    3. Can install custom component as I have purchased ASP components for my software.
    4. MS Access and SQL Server (at least 2) as database (both)
    5. Anti SPAM email protection
    6. ASP.Net and AJAX Extension Support
    7. PHP Support
    8. ASP Upload component
    9. Best Uptime record

Thanks a lot again for your consideration over my matter.

This is entirely the responsibility of the hosting firm the registrar wouldn’t have anything to do with this.
