I would NEVER trust a review hosted on a domain with the hosts name in the domain.

Plus I would not want to transfer a domain to a host company.
And the big $5.95 per month is only if you take 24 month hosting.
So far I know their service is nice
Other nice host like Exabytes dot com, bluehost dot com
These are what I know

Why not trust a host with the word host in it? Hostgator.com is a popular host and my web company is called host*****.net (do not want to break any rules)

So a trusting person?
Just because it says "host" in the name?
Well, that means every single hosting company with that word in the name is trustworthy!
I'm sorry I did misread it but just because the word host is in the name does not change anything. If you read some of the reviews they do have a negavtive one and to me its a big issue. Its in regards to uptime...
I do understand it but at the same time why would they bother to write a false review on the subject of uptime? It would be smarter for them to discuss something of a smaller issue. One of the most important thing for anyone that has a website online is uptime.
p.s.
Yes, I do realize that the person that has the review site is the host but at the same time could be a fan of the hosting company (3rd party).
p.s. #2
I know many host that offer review forums that are placed on their company website does that make it any less truthful? Here's an example here http://forums.cirtexhosting.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14 .

Well I have the same approach when it comes to review sites, if the domain name is the name of a site being reviewed, I am hesitant, I guess it comes with the territory, I won't even visit sites like that when I see them in search results.
The main thing is they could easily allow a few bad reviews in to make it 'look good' while keeping a large portion of them out. Still making it look good in the end.
A review site such as that is the exact same thing as testimonial forum that a webhost would host. A staff member could easily go to a third party website and post great reviews to make them look good.
It is not the exact same as a third party review site, it is setup to promote the service of the host. Yes false reviews can be added, at a decent third party review site however 'bad' reviews will be let in w/o any consideration as to 'will it reduce business'
I can not see how you can not understand or see the huge difference here. It's literally night and day.
These sites are setup to promote the hosting itself, not for 'reviews' of an actual unbiased nature.
They are as worthless as reviews posted on the hosts site itself IMHO.

True.
Just like testimonials.
I have yet to run into any site using testimonials where there is a negative testimonial.
Just self serving to only post POSITIVE testimonials and reviews.
