Thread: Looking for info on a Hosting Company

I am looking for a good hosting company, I have my domain thru godaddy but I do not think using their hosting plan is a good idea.

You're right, it's not a good idea. What type of site will it be? Some hosts are better for more server intensive websites, such as a forum, others are best for smaller sites and cheaper too. I am sure some people will come along with recommendations.

It will be a site that is like Madduxsports.com or Nsawins.com

I really need to open a merchant account for payment processing but first I have to get a business checking account and in order to do so I need to get incorporated for $150$ at the secretary of states office that will supply a LLC type of corporation, that will give me a tax id number which will enable me to license a business name at a cost of $15. After that I should be ready to get a merchant account at paypal and click bank thru my bank of America small business account that I can receive as soon as I have a licensed business name..

I myself haven't been with any one host long enough to recommend. Dreamhost.com is good if you're not hosting a forum or anything similar. Will this be your first website? I'm just curious if you know yet what you'll use to run it.

Yes it will be my first website but i have worked with a site for about 2 yrs and now i want my own site. I have updated using interactive tools page publisher but i know there is more to it. I am open to any suggestions.

look around in the marketplace for offers.. choose a plan that you like.. then do a bit of research on the host...

I recommend HostGator, great CS and overall plan, very few issues over the years.

you should pick a hosting company that you can grow with and that provides some time of managed services to help you get to where you want to go. sites like the ones you showed should be secured, and will one day get a high volume. even when you first start you can purcahse shared hosting always consider growth plan!

As this is your first website I will suggest you to start with shared hosting environment with a provider who is cheap and reliable. The support team is 24/7 to assist you in case you have any questions. Please look for the control panel as this makes administration very easy, (cPanel).
Check for shared hosting provider in search engines, try to visit there live chats and emails support ask them many pre-sales, know about there knowledge
